Parylene Process

The first step is the vaporization of solid dimer. The dimer is heated to a temperature of 175 °C, becoming gaseous.

The gas is then pyrolyzed (thermochemical cleavage of organic compounds) to convert the dimer into its monomeric form.

The monomeric gas is deposited in the deposition chamber at room temperature as a transparent polymer film. The resulting coating thickness can vary with the application and ranges between 1 µm and up to 50 µm.
