Deburring, Edge Rounding, Surface Finishing and Leveling
Deburring and edge rounding are essential processes in the production workflow. The mechanical and thermal effects on the base material during the cutting of sheet metal contours result in the formation of cutting burrs along the edges. These cutting burrs are removed in preparation for subsequent processing steps and to improve handling and workplace safety. This can be implemented for materials such as steel, hot-dip galvanized sheet, stainless steel, copper, brass, as well as aluminum and their alloys.
Leveling
Depending on the cutting process used, production-related deformations and stresses occur. To precisely level the blanks before further processing, our roller leveling machines with automatic leveling pressure and feed control are primarily used alongside manual techniques.
In roller leveling, a sheet passes through several successive alternating bends. From the infeed to the outfeed of the roller leveling machine, the leveling rollers are arranged in an offset pattern. As a result, one roller always engages between the two opposing leveling rollers. At the first leveling rollers, the alternating bends are strong and become progressively weaker toward the outfeed. The progression of the bends resembles a decaying sine curve. Through the elastic-plastic alternating bends and the continuous reduction of deformation, a flat and, above all, stress-free sheet metal part is produced.
Vibratory Finishing
Vibratory finishing is a material removal process for surface treatment of primarily metallic workpieces. The workpieces to be processed are placed together with abrasive media, such as ceramic or corundum materials, along with a liquid additive as bulk material in a container. Through an oscillating or rotating movement of the working container, a relative movement is created between the workpiece and the abrasive media, which causes material removal on the workpiece, particularly at its edges. The surface appearance of the workpieces, the roughness, the material removal, and the deburring performance can be varied almost arbitrarily through the abrasive media used.
Weber NLC-1P
- Grinding machine for wet processing of heat-sensitive components
- Vacuum clamping table for non-magnetic materials
- Processing width up to 1,380 mm
- Counter-rotating rotor heads ensure uniformly rounded edges on all sides as well as a non-directional finish
The system is primarily used for special materials that generate high heat and for processing oily sheets.
Lissmac SMD 345 REER
Universally applicable in the field of thin sheet processing, the machines of the S-Edition deliver efficiency and excellent processing results. In the dry process, burr protrusions and the oxide layer can be removed on one side, and strong edge rounding or a surface finish can be produced.
